Math Solutions Spring 2013 Workshop
Exploring Geometry and Measurement

The MSP Title II B Mathematics Grant is pleased to announce Year III with Math Solutions! Exploring Geometry and Measurement, is the third and final course in the series. The course will address in depth the mathematical content and instructional strategies necessary for developing students' geometric and measurement thinking. Participants explore what is meant by geometric and measurement thinking and how geometric & measurement concepts can be applied at various grade levels. Teachers will learn through a series of problem-solving investigations how to teach geometric & measurement concepts and skills that involve two and three dimensional shapes, analyze attributes and make generalizations about specific shapes, importance of measurement tools, estimation, and benchmarks for measureing. Complex tasks are incorporated and developed to provide differentiated math tasks to elementary & middle school students.

Dates: Feb. 9, March 2, March 16, April 6, May 11 and June 1 (last session for P-Credit people or make-up)

If you are taking the course for P-Credits, FIRST YOU WILL NEED PERMISSION FROM MARY LOU WAINWRIGHT TO REGISTER WITH ASPDP. MARY LOU WILL SEND A SEPARATE EMAIL FOR PERMISSION TO REGISTER WITH ASPDP!! DO NOT REGISTER UNTIL YOU RECEIVE THAT EMAIL.
